Re: cs champion of all men karting meet.
I'd be interested in this (depending on date) and got a mate who would def come along if short on numbers?
be a good chance to get to know some of you being a newbie ;)
Hi all,
not been on here in a while since I sold my 1.6, just picked up a 197 a couple weeks back so thought I'd check back.
Hope to speak to you all soon, and maybe get to a few meets?
Anth
PS. how do I go about changing my user name? cheers.
Nah, that doesn't include cam belt, like bmh.01 says thats not 'til 73K, looking forward to that one :S
My lass got her 1.2 serviced for £150 ish last year so i was expecting it to be just a bit more than that, so i was a little surprised, haha.
Bloke at the dealers even said "i can do it...
Anyone know any decent garages in the North East where I can get my 36K service?
Just had a price from a couple Main Stealers - £276.17
Thats for a 1.6i with air con!
Cheers in advance for any help
i checked a few websites as i had a part no. at the time (it was 'bout 1yr and a half ago so i can't remember which ones), and they all seemed to be around that mark so i gave up.
where'd you get yours from? i'd buy one if i could get it for £17ish.
i have a mp3 cd player and was looking at the wire to connect it with the steering wheel controls and they're approx £45-50, so i just make do without.
same here, i really fancy working with cars, but most courses at the colleges up here are full-time and on apprenticeships so i would be looking at a major wage drop until i was fully qualified (i'm talking 4-5k), which i just can't afford.
there is a couple night courses so i think i'll have...
i'm interested in signing up to do a course in car mechanics, at the minute my knowledge is pretty basic (i can change a wheel, change an air filter, that sort of thing),
just wondering if anyone knew any good courses to enrol in?
cheers.
give swiftcover.com a try
i've been with admiral for 2 years and got a renewal quote for a little over £1000!!
ended up going through swiftcover for £650!!
they're solely an online insurer so they don't have to pay for call centres etc, hence lower premiums.
the richbrook gaiter surround needs to be screwed on, you get a drill bit with it so you can drill the correct sized hole, but the screws they give you aren't pointed so they're a b*****d to get into the hole you drill, took me an hour and a half to fit mine, and there's only 8-9 screws...
I have a 1.6 16v and currently thinking about performance mods, basically what mods are best for improving performance to a noticable amount?
and in your opinions is it actually worth modifying the 1.6, 'cos I keep thinking I could be putting the money I spend towards getting a better car in...
i was just about to post the same question,
i think respraying them would work out cheaper, if you have the paint number any bodyshop should be able to get hold of it to match.
does anyone know how much you would be looking to pay to get this done?
thanks for the help guys, still considering the options, i had an induction kit on my last two cars, but i had read that panel filters work better 'cos of the induction kit taking in the heat from the engine, and i wanna go more for performance than "just noise" this time around.
