Hi, hope all well, yes I think we swapped lol mine didn’t have stickers. Will see how they go, I can be flexible if an enthusiast wants to get the benefit. Cheers, Steve
Hope you’re well. I remembered the new boxes Speedlines the other day. They went on the P7AWN 182 Trophy I bought off the Trophy Forum if you recall that one. Good times. Steve
Hi everyone. I hope any OG 182 Cup & Trophy owners still here are all well. It's been a very long time since I've been around the forum. I've not even owned a car since I sold my last R26.R in 2020.
I have a set of used Sachs Front Adjustable Dampers en-route to me and I'll have eyes on next...
It's my picture, but not my car LOL. £1800 sounds pretty cheap for any Clio that shape, take care it's not on the ABI Insurance Register. Cat C / D etc.
Dealer retail price includes possibility of part exchange (often take a long time to sell) as well as things like bodywork attention, good (proper) tyres, alloys, windscreens and often the 12000 mile service. There is a lot to be said for picking up a car that has all this already done as I can...
Aye, t'was mine. The car is a little gem. It would be a great car even without all the mods done. All seems to have worked out well with the Gti sale too.
This may be the last time you can thank Gordon Brown for something Darren :)
Sometimes design just cannot be beaten. IMO the Gordini stripes on the 182 Cup are the perfect width and position to be unique to the car and just about right. Defo only on the French Racing Blue car though.
My thoughts Mack, the problem being if you hadn't done it before you would probably apply the steering but not add the throttle. With no result. Is the difference between lift-off and snap just semantics? I think we (typical fwd hot hatchback owners) take years of experience for granted in...
Written in a more lucid moment having read a thread on Renaultsport where someone of some eminence had mentioned the 197 had a tendency to oversteer.
Ralph has hit the nail on the head, it's lift-off (or as I call it snap) oversteer with it coming as a surprise to anyone who has induced it who...
There's plenty of room to negotiate, it helps everyone to keep the prices advertised as high as poss. Re: the 4x4 quip, The car doesn't sit any higher than the one parked next to it, must be the angle of picture.
Hi all, I would like to learn a bit about Coilover suspension. I have seen the name and the group buy links etc. Is it a generic name or an actual manufacturer? My interest stems from wishing to upgrade the suspension and handling on a 182 Cup to the standard of the Trophy with Sachs dampers...
South Coast circa £220 at Renault dealer. What is the opinion about having a reputable specialist do the servicing with Renault parts and quality oil, would it put you off buying a car if so?
I've had a 225 and the handling / ride was rubbish in comparison, I just wanted to finish every journey and get out of it. I'm sure the later cars are better. It's ridiculous to say that the 'buymycar' 225s are cheaper????? The only niggles I have with the Trophy is the bloody persistent rattles...
IMHO anyone who thinks that the Trophy ride is poor needs their head tested. The ride in a Trophy is superior to the Cup suspension and handles better too. As for them being compared to a 225, that's not a bad car but the ride is poor and too much torque steer, also try selling one second hand!
Some feedback on Trophy owners, the upshot is one car was sold to fund a business, the other to fund a van by person made redundant, both disappointed to see them go. Anyone can e-mail Steve via the website for more details.
I am assuming it may not have been ordered with the Cup Spolier kit. I found a carbon fibre version on KTec site for about £90 - easy fit too it seems. I have a nice silver one for sale if you want to pm me.
Thanks for the feedback and POV everyone, interesting to see the varied perception of price. I probably should have asked, "If I offered a..... Would you pay?" but were getting there.
Hi all, not strictly a car for sale as I have only been offered it. Would be interested with as much feedback as possible as to what you all think this is worth. 0404 Clio V6 255 in Mars Red with 33k and FRSH. Recent service and 4 new tyres. 3 owners but warranted mileage. So, to summarise it's...
Haven't come across the hose probs, just the creaks bumps and groans from the suspension etc. A few alarm issues and seat creaks. We forgive them everything for being the ultimate hot hatch.
Fond memories of running Williams 1 to 3 models, also being chased by plain clothes Volvo T5 police car who after eye-balling car and wheels turned off lights and left me alone :)
Interesting point about the Golf. Totally agree about how well screwed together they are. Now that 182 is a discontinued model the knocking from 182 suspension, unfortunately, may have to be lived with. Has anyone without Cup suspension reported the same noises? The strut top elongation mod does...
