Ripped my nearside front wheel off!

I'm thinking along those lines too. Just phoned GSF and CitRen, waiting for them to come back to me with prices now.

Ripped my nearside front wheel off!

Hindsight's 20/20 mate! I just thought at the time it would be better to not involve another car, but if I had hit him - I'm sure it would have been a non-fault claim on my part but I didn't want to chance it, guess I wasn't really thinking at all...

Ripped my nearside front wheel off!

Seems like a fairly reasonable idea to me, although this is all due to my twatish error in judgement. Edit: Sorry, I think I phrased the original statement slightly wrongly - we'd use the compensation money to pay some of my excess, because the repairs would have been done under insurance...

Ripped my nearside front wheel off!

Nah, she likes me just fine! :rasp: Her idea was that we could use the money she got as compensation on the repairs, as things are rather tight at the moment. Would it put some kind of black mark against my name? Saying that I've had a Personal Injury Claim against me?

Ripped my nearside front wheel off!

Right, here's an update! I'm getting the garage in my village to take a look and see if they think it'll be a write off, then depending on what they say I may go through the insurance or get my mate to sort it out.

Ripped my nearside front wheel off!

I'll get some costs from GSF in the morning and see what the costs are, then go from there! Bloody hell!

Ripped my nearside front wheel off!

Well, my mate has looked at the car and says these are the bits I need to buy: 1 x Nearside Front Shock Absorber 1 x Nearside Front Bottom Ball Joint 1 x Nearside Front Inner CV Joint 1 x Steering Rack 1 x New Wheel 1 x Tyre 1 x Gearbox Oil (5 Litre) - the drive shaft has popped out and the...

Ripped my nearside front wheel off!

Oh bugger! Driving up a hill today (Toys Hill, towards Brasted, for anyone who knows it), round a sharp corner, national speed limit zone and I was going about 30-35. There was a car on the other side of the road, coming down the hill, and he was on the line. I moved over to the left and ran...

    Linux Media Centre

Cheers chap! That looks bloody ace, and I'd gather it'll be exceedingly stable as it's Linux based. I've had a quick look through the features, just wondered what the deal is with access from other stations on the LAN, can I access all the features (i.e. as if I was sitting in front of the...

    Linux Media Centre

I guess this is for all the Linux bods out there. I'm currently looking into a Media Network, the hub of which was going to be a Windows MCE/Vista based PC, with 360s as the 'Terminals' that I could stream media to. Now, what I want to know is if there's anyway I could do the same thing with...

    Help with 6x9's and amp

Fair play, but that's how it's always been in my experience. I've worked with live sound for 10 years and never seen speakers blow with an amp rated higher than the speakers. And as for the AC/DC thing, I'll take what you say as correct as I've not got a detailed understanding of Electronics...

    Help with 6x9's and amp

Right, you need to have an amp that's rated higher (RMS Wattage) than the speakers. In your situation, you're pushing the amp which is causing it to clip, so that the AC Signal going to your 6x9s is becoming DC. Using an underpowered amp is the main cause of dead speakers, it'll f**k them...

Hello! Welcome to CS. I live in a house in the county next to yours. I have consumed most of a bottle of whisky and I am a little drunk. The lady won't give me a cuddle because she says I'm too drunk... Looks like I'm on the sofa tonight! BTW: Welcome to CS!

    Car Alarm and Wi-Fi

So long as your Mrs does too! ;) Hmm, Edde is probably your best bet - but I'd guess if it's one of the remotes with Bi-Directional communication and it uses 2.4Ghz it could be to blame...

    £200-50 What Headunit? :P

I've just got the Kenwood 5534U and it's pretty damm nice! MP3, USB, Stalk control (and display on the higher models), 2 Pre-Outs, Optional Bluetooth. For that price range, I'd look at the 7534U or the 8534U. Try iceclearout on eBay, that's where I got mine - although the communication from them...

    Kenwood H/U

Cheers mate! I've always had Kenwood Units in the past, but I've been a bit out of touch for a little while. Just wanted thoughts on what they're like in real world use. Easy to use? How's the Bluetooth? How is MP3 playback from USB, you know the kinda thing...

    Kenwood H/U

Right, I'm looking at the Kenwood ?534U Series of H/Us - probably the 6534U or the 7534U. Just wondered if anyone had any experience of these two. Just FYI, I'm wanting USB, Bluetooth, Stalk Control, if anyone else has suggestions - I'm open! Cheers people!

I generally tend to do the same mate. This is a mate's laptop he's installed XP on, then realised he has no idea how to install all the drivers!
