I've been on GiffGaff for awhile and currently on the 4G trial. I only get 3G at home (Northampton) but when I'm at work (London) I do get some 4G. Not everywhere though, which indicates the coverage is a bit iffy. When I do get coverage it's awesome.
Obviously this comes down to EE having...
If you want to go Android I really think it's a no-brainer to go for the Nexus 5 outright and a SIM only deal. It's by far the most cost-effective route.
Incidentally, I'll be selling my Nexus 5 in a couple days :o
My understanding (perhaps wrong) was that 4G would be fine via GiffGaff (O2) given the band/frequency they use. However, there would be issues if trying to use EE for 4G.
Several potential issues though, so I've just ordered the standard UK model.
Yep I've just been reading up on the LTE/4G stuff. I use GiffGaff (aka O2) and I believe that the network they use for 4G is fully supported, but something like EE (uses other networks) wouldn't have full support.
Also have issue of a non-US charger and apparently the warranty would only be...
Hey all,
This might be a silly question but it's Friday after a long week at work.
I'm looking to buy an iPhone 5s outright as I've been on sim-free for ages now and plan on staying that way. I shifted to Android to try out the Nexus 5 and despite being a good phone I just find myself wanting...
Only just spotted this thread. Been fascinated by the whole thing.
I've invested just a small amount in some Peercoin (http://peercoin.net/). Mainly for a little bit of fun more than anything.
Reading up on it there seems to be opinion that it's coded in a more long-term, sustainable method...
Yup battery life is pretty awful.
Fully charged last night. Watched 45 minute TV show on train then approx 30 mins of Spotify / tweeting and general browsing.
As I type this I'm at 41%.
Fortunately I'm never far from a charger!
Got mine yesterday.
Really enjoying it so far. Love the texture of the back it feels great in the hand, and I can't believe how light it is. Screen is lovely and obviously it's very nimble.
Still getting used to Android so there's a bit of crossover where I'm still thinking about iOS gestures...
I've got to the stage where my 4 is so slow I really don't care about iOS. Logic dictates that it's clearly the hardware and not the OS that's the issue here, but in a way it's made me curious to try Android which I don't think is a bad thing.
Also the bigger screen will be a big positive for...
Realised that 16GB will be fine for me so cancelled 32GB order via Play Store (said dispatched by 8/11) and ordered from Carphone Warehouse who said they have stock. Not sure when I'll get it but should hopefully only be a couple days now.
/impatient
FFS they would release this whilst I'm on the train!
Ordered 32GB black but says won't be dispatched until 8/11 now. Well I say ordered, I'm still waiting confirmation. Guess they've been hammered!
Can you elaborate on the battery and how bad it is?
It really won't be a problem for me as I'm never from from a computer but I'm still curious to know how bad is bad.
Battery not an issue for me so looks like I've got pretty much every box ticked. I could probably go 16GB too as I use Spotify and don't take many photos so storage not a huge factor either.
Think I'll be selling my iPad Mini once I get this. 445 ppi is going to make that non-retina display...
These are the reported specs:
I'm really looking forward to getting my hands on one of these.
I'm making the jump from iOS to Android with the Nexus 5. Still balling with an iPhone 4 so in desperate need of an upgrade. Want to stay SIM only though so buying outright. Think the Nexus 5 will be near enough half the price than the iPhone 5s so happy to give Android a crack.
Out of curiosity: 04 plate Liquid Yellow. 75k miles. Belts done and full service history (belts done by JamSport, everything else done by BTM Fred since my ownership). Turini's + Yozza (assume these add no value but listing for clarity). Few dents/dings as unfortunately I have to leave it at the...
