i was using 2 x 180w lights but could do with some more powerfull lights for outdoor stuff, not really what the limit is to the lights you can use (if you go brighter you might be only able to use 1 light per battery pack) - i picked mine up off ebay for £100, they are normally £390

Well decided to give my Tronix Explorer XT SE power pack a go today and shoot my REX, so it was good bye speedlites and hello studio lights. i desperately need to get some new triggers as mine are shite.

The 7d is a great bit of kit once you have got you head around the new AF settings and menu options - its completely different to the other canon range so dont expect to just jump in and start snapping great pics if you are upgrading for another canon varient. It takes a while to get to grips...
shouldnt be that hard, stick some gaffa tape on the outside of the bumper, rough up the inside of it to get a good key then apply some p40 fibre glass mix on the inside of the bumper. once you have a nice thick strong layer (will require a few coats), remove the gaffa tape and use p38 filler on...

access the standard menu on the back that shows shutter speed, aperture, iso etc. select the focus mode. then use the button labelled M-fn (or something like that) near the shutter button to scroll to a different focus mode
welcome to club buddy, first thing to do is swap the AF mode from Full auto mode (as its rubbish and only ever focuses on the closest thing in the frame, rather than the biggest / most dominant subject in the frame) and put it to spot AF or expanded spot AF mode
Yesterday i stopped by a local car show, there was surprisingly quite a cool mix of cars there, and best of all it was FREE.
Gordini renault was awesome
i think i might look into find a proper decent quality video tripod to try and reduce camera shake. That vid was shot mostly handheld or with a monopod for a few bits, its surprising how the wind effects stability once you have a large telephoto and lens hood on there. Also i wish they had made...

Hi guys
I have started a new job so am thinking of upgrading the car but i will be doing a fair amount of motorway miles, about 15,500 a year (325 a week). I just wanted to know what sort of mpg you guys get for average motorway driving and how much things like road tax etc is.
