Well it has got to the point now that I have had enough of my 172. I have had so many problems that have been technical and dealer related that I am now looking to get the lease cut short with the leasing company (they have agreed that it is not good enough) and replace the car. Its a shame...
If you use a higher octane fuel (e.g. Optimax compared to normal UL 95 octane) then a couple of advantages are:
* Fuel consumption can increase - fuel is higher octane rating so burns for longer and hence less is used.
* It can help clean out the engine - fuel is burnt for longer and so it...
I have a clutch with 1500 miles wear on it on my 172 and it has started juddering when i pull awway in 1st and 2nd gears. Has anyone else seen this or know what it means ? This is the 3rd clutch in my car after 2 faulty ones and i want to know if this is a fault aswell.

4k rattle is a known problem with the 172, i had my exhaust replaced a couple of months ago to fix this problem. they told me it was a baffle that was loose and made the exhaust rattle at around 4k revs.

Well after 5 years without a prang i have gone and bent the Clio thanks to numbnuts in a Vectra a couple of weeks back.
On a big roundabout, i was coming round, had not been in car long so tyres were cold and he decides to pull out onto the roundabout across me at the last moment and then...

My oil and stop lights have been flickering on and off occasionally for the last 3 days.
Oil level is fine and there are no leaks i can see. I am going to take it to Reno on Fri but anyone got any ideas what it might be ?
It is a mk2 172, July 01 with 22k on the clock.

Southport weekender was awesome, as ever.
As for the Clio clutch/gearchange, i think its sh*t. I have now done 21k, first clutch went after 8k (weak release plate springs) and second clutch is slipping due to same problem. The gearchange is not too bad, notchy but nowhere near as good as the...

Looks like it was my eyes playing tricks on me. I spoke to a lady on the Renault stand at the Motorshow yesterday and the one there is the only on in the country.
Must have been a phase 1 V6.
Oops.
