I came out of football training tonight and started the car,there was quite a loud squeak coming from the engine maybe 1 squeak a second,as i drove around the squeak got more frequent with more revs yet if i put the clutch in itd go back to the 1 squeak a second. Any ideas?

Im putting new bulbs in behind the temp/time/radio screen and fitting a multichanger,i see these both need the dash off so i might aswell do them both at the same time,problem is,i have no idea how to get the dash off! Is there a guide?I had a gander but cant see one.

The car im looking at buying as a slight issue with the screen on the centre console that tells you what cd track your on and the time etc. Its a ph2 172,the left half of the screen seems fine but the right half is faded and hard to see,is it likely an led behind it has blown?

A ph2 172 i went to look at for sale had a 2 centimetre dint on the drivers door panel,the dint isnt wide but is deep and i think id want to get it sorted,is it cheaper to get in someone to do it or just to buy a new door in the same colour,fit it and sell the old door on? Cheers folks.

Service light. A 172 im looking at has recently had a new gearbox and the seller says the service light is on but will go off with a reset and its been on since the gearbox change,does this sound right? I know its to indicate a small problem and usually needs to go on a diagnostics machine?

Going to look at a ph1 tomorrow and the headunit has been changed to a sony USB unit. This would be nice but in the area im going to be living in the next 6 months and some of the places ill be parking the car id rather not have an expensive headunit or even a faceoff one as thieves know...
