My cup on pistonheads. Sad to see it go, and nobody notices me anymore in my Mondeo Diesel replacement:(http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/renault/renaultsport-clio/renaultsport-clio-172-cup--stunning-condition-and-original/1497992
Decided to fit the new bushes to the dog bone on wife's 172 cup. Got it off easy enough but getting the old bushes out with hand tools was impossible. Had to borrow a car and go to my dads old work and use their press. After that the rest was easy. I think the gear change is better but to be...
Fred sorted it. Just a bad plug lead. I'm not sure if this was caused by the puddle but I suspect yes, all that steam must of damaged one of the leads. Fred has lent me a set untill he gets back from Le Mans. So, symptoms where rough running, sounded like an impreza, ECU light flashing and lack...
Hi All. A few days ago the entrance to our road had a deep puddle, I had been through it in my Volvo but after the 172 Cup went through it it has started to misfire, I sounds like its constantly on three cyclinders, pop and bang out of the exhaust and the Engine light comes on every once in a...
So with Sachs shocks coming on the second hand market I've been thinking of a complete Trophy set up on my wife's 172 Cup. I understand that the rears are no problem and a straight swap but the fronts have a different spacing. So, is it a reasonable idea to slot the upper bolt hole on the front...
Just resurrecting this thread. My engine mounts are causing all sorts of problems, so looking through the forum the dogbone and upper seem straight forward but what about the lower engine mount? Are they all possible to do at home with a jack? I have a 172 cup. Thanks
When we bought our 172 Cup recently we had no locking wheel nut key for the standard renault locks. I drilled them out, but it took ages and about 5 drill bits per nut as they are so hard. The desing of the wheel and the nut doesnt lend itself to many of the other solutions on the net
Its rare, but every now and then whilst driving the speedo stops working. Its drops back to 0. How is the speedo fed? Is it a cable or a more modern design? Thanks
Bought the 172 Cup. Had a PM from a forum member who had checked the Ranualt system and found details of the car, so all well. 2 Hr drive to view the car. All very tidy, it was missing the front lower spoiler and the aerial was snapped. The rest was perfect. It had been specced with Air Con and...
Thanks all. Actually just spoted the flame red phase 1 in the For Sale section, bloody hell that might be the one. I think I read that some think these are the 'purest' of the breed? Think I feel a little more comfortable with a cliopsort member, service history etc. Thing is, with the import...
Hi All. I'm looking at buying a Clio 172 Cup for my wife and have found one at a bargain price. Its got 56000 miles, apparently with previous MOTs. Its got no service history so I gave Renault a call and they have no records and think it may be an import. I havnt seen it yet, it about a 2hr...
