    centre section exhaust rubber 182..

if it's anything like the 172 centre rubber hanger, it's just one bolt (circa 13mm). Undo that, pull the rubber support off the bracket, put on the new one, screw it back in and hey presto! It would be a good idea to have a trolley jack or similar to support the exhaust when you're removing the...

    New Laptop - Adivce

I recently purchased a Dell Inspiron 6400 (I think) - spec was a dual core 1.86ghz, 2GB RAM, 160gb hard drive but I think a 15.4" screen, with Vista all for under £500 delivered. The screen does have a 'glass' like finish to it as well! You can spec dell laptops to whatever you want, and it...

    172 exhausts

I've got a magnex too - it's not going to win any exhaust awards but as noted above, it seems well made and pretty solid. Don't know how much they go for new, but I would imagine they represent decent value. It's not too loud, but under load (like going up long hills) it can get a bit noisy.

    Battery doesn't fit

yes mate, I bought a Bosch battery (its a 480 amp battery as I think the HB013 Halfords one is - i.e. more than the standard) and it was a good inch / inch and a half longer than the old one. However don't think it was any wider so I didn't have any problems clamping it back down / fitting into...

    Fitting a new battery

I fitted a new battery to mine yesterday. Wasn't quite as easy as I'd hoped as getting at some of the bits can be quite fiddly - would have helped if I had some smaller rachets (or just more tools generally). Also, the battery I bought was a good inch / inch and a half longer than the old...

    Ramps or axle stands?

I used ramps to change my exhaust, feels much safer (I've not actually got any stands however). No chance of driving up the ramps front ways, unless you put some wood down to lower the angle (as mentioned above).

    TDC makes me angry

hello mate, I know how you feel! :( I had a new gearbox/tdc sensor/starter motor etc less than a year ago, and I couldn't believe it when it began failing to start - it basically did it after a run where the engine was hot. It turned and turned, but never actually started. Thankfully, mine...

not sure how much this will actually help, but it's an underbody shot of my system. (It's a magnex too btw, but with the large oval tail pipe)

    magnex exhaust fitted

cheers! Yeah, I'm not really a fan of the aesthetics, but yes, the price made it silly not too! Sound is actually ok so far. I've only just really put it on today and taken it around the local area to check it's ok. Seems pretty meaty / deep when idling and under 2k revs, above that...

    magnex exhaust fitted

not very exciting I'm afraid, but I'm pretty chuffed that I was able to change the exhaust on my motor today. Not the most proficient at doing my own mechanical work etc, but happy with this one. :) Bought this magnex cat-back exhaust off Markpw on here quite a while ago, but had the...

    Continental tyres = embarrassing

yeah, I had contis on mine when I got it. I didn't find they were very good in the wet though - very poor, plus the squeeling was a touch embarrassing. Put a set of PE2s on since, and much much betters, especially in the wet - much more confidence inspiring. :)

Went down to renault this morning...

I assume the 'clio' badge they are referring to is for the tailgate, as that uses pins. Don't think they'd have one without the pins, as all clio's have the clio badge on the boot and can't think of anywhere else they'd put one. How about the mk3 clios?

    Cup Exhaust blown!!

mine snapped in the same place. I got it welded up - they put a sleeve inside the two parts and welded it up. Job's a good'un for now. :) I've got a stainless cat back system to put on, but not got round to it yet!
