    Like you said.................big mistake to have braked (as if to say move back a bit) The best thing to do in those circumstances is to slow down gently and let them overtake. Sorry to hear of the damage caused............hope that it can be fixed without too much hassle

    Aux Belt is a DIY job and only needs to be changed if showing signs of wear (cracking), or excesive noise due to slipping,....in which case it needs adjusting

    As I said in my previous post "IF I had broken the speed limit, I would not post about it on the forum" I can say that in over 30 years of driving I have managed to get 3 points on my license and that was not for speeding. The points are now lapsed.
