    Where ever you take it chances are if they've done something on the engine they're going to make sure it works throughout the rev range, cruising, under heavy load etc.

    Trophy or R26 IMO. The R27/197's are not as fun as the old 172/182/cups/trophy models IMO. The Meganes are much quicker and theres is much more potential for them. As a daily though nothing meets the spec more than a full fat 182. Cheap with all the comforts and pulls like a good one!!!!!!

    Lol cool seems like it has had something, it needs a dephaser at the minute and the belt was done by some random garage 3 years ago. after I replace the belt kit (with the correct tools) and the dephaser will get a dyno read out hopefully and post it.

    Well its hitting limiter just above 7500 and the light it definetly on around 7300. Like i said ive driven alot of tthe but ive never pushed past that light so dont know the real limiter on them (well not 100% sure) So theres a chance that its been mapped with the rstuner?

    Cambelt is definetly 72k or 5 yrs. I think aux belt is same too. Make sure if you have one done to have it done with the correct tools! Its as important for the car as breathing is for you!

    Get it checked as people on here will tell you and my own experience the slightest timing issues on these makes them drop power. When they're timed up properly you get smoother driving and power delivery more mpg etc. Everything gets better.

    These arent adjustable. That big spring does all the tensioning for you. Chances are it needs replacing. The tensioner pivots on a shaft thats bolted to the engine with an 8mm allen key.     The exhaust usually whistles and rasps from the knuckle join at the cat but that doesn't sound nice :S Is the intake pipe secure to the airbox/filter?

    Whatever it is it isn't normal. Sounds too heavy to be the canister to me. Possibly something on the aux belt, either way get it in a garage before it does affect it.

    Most cars with hydraulic PAS make the noise your on about when held on full lock. If your belt squeaks on a morning then they're could be an aux belt tensioner issue. Id have that looked at though.

    Few questions about new clio 197

    Forgot!!!! Ive seen a couple run crap from cold and it turned out to be the washer jets on the bonnet dont have seal so they let rain water drip through, onto number one spark plug and cause it to corrode. Take a look!

    Dont let them do it without correct tools and without slackening the cams, so many of these engines are running with the timing slightly out so tipex it and the timing will still be out. Get it done properly as you will benefit from it.

    Thats the one im watching for me. I think I could make it fit and dont see why anyone else couldnt. Bit of on the job thinking and a couple of hours and it should be ok.

    How awful is awful? If its definitely the PAS pump. Change it if your willing to spend the ££ or leave it if your not. They're a bit noisy anyway.
