Can anyone tell me if fitting a replacement TDC sensor is as simple as bolting a new one in place and connecting the wires up...or does it need a bit of setting up?

Sorry if this sounds stupid but are all wiper settings on the one fuse? I've not had the car long. My intermittent wipers aren't working but the other settings are (constant, really fast & rear). It looks like they have an adjustable speed setting also. The car is a 172 Cup. Any ideas?
