“Charlotte” The 182 FF



At last some pics and the start of my (probably slow) project thread.

Picked up with limited history but from a friend who’s spent £1400 on lots of new bits like brakes, calipers, clutch, exhaust etc etc only to get a mk3 and sell this one.

I got it at a fair price but it needs some love as you’ll see. My intention is to not modify it but maintain it as stock as possible with some minor mods that I think really benefit the overall car.

I’ve done this before and termed it Stock+.

To first part will be to get and fit the missing bits, like the 182 steering wheel and gear knob, then sort out some odds and sods that are broken as well and deep clean it, as it’s pretty grubby.

Having been over it with my paint depth gauge it’s all original it would seems which is good, there’s some age related marks on the Bodywork that I’ll fix and the interior is, in places disgusting, but more on that to follow.

So with CSF looking like my next trackday I intend to use some time between now and then to get it sorted and looking a bit better. On the list,

- Strip the rest of the interior and tidy up cables etc
- Fit the newer heavier rear springs (another set)
- Get the original swing arms blasted, weld on the PMS strengthening plates and then powder coat, fit with Poly bushes.
- Might get a splitter depending if I have time / money
- New Exhaust hangers, the KTec ones are sagging a bit, they're only £7 each (or £45 from ktec)
- Might change the oil as well, only done two days so might not be worth it yet.

Then I need to replace the side windows in the campervan with some sliding ones and I'm good to go.

Yep. Being honest it’s less a work thing and more a sabbatical thing, need to take some in paid time off and don’t really want to just hammer my savings when I’ve got toys like this I can cash in.

Been mulling it over for a number of weeks but don’t want to miss CSF so figured I’d keep it until after that.

So now I need to figure out how much it might be worth.

Tbh the gearbox alone is worth more than some people's entire cars!
Yeah I’m figuring out where I think would be reasonable, given the fact it’s got a literal shed load of spares I’m thinking somewhere around £6k.

In the shed I’ve got

3 sets of wheels
Subframe
Rear axle
Refurbished (but used) brake claipers
4 xenon headlights (2 pretty much new)
Sports cat
4 swing arms
36mm hubs
16 injectors (used but all working)
Tessa intake
PMS ac delete
Fuchs race oil
Oem coolant
Original air box
Loads of bits and bobs as well

The car is
Rebuilt gearbox and black line lsd
Pms shifter
Jon foz lowered mounts
2x sparco grp seats
6 point and 4 point harness
Bolt in half cage
BC BR coil overs with 3 spring eoghts
Whiteline ARB
Rear beam and subframe refurbished and fitted with poly bushes
Motamec steering wheel
Steering Wheel spacer
2x go pros
Mjc coolant hoses
Belts were done in 2022, it’s done maybe 6000 miles since
Headlight blanks

It’ll also come with my trackday boxes and Jerry cans with loads of bits like spare Bosch o2 sensors, spark plugs, oils etc etc

I’ve also got the full interior that I’d like to go with it but if not I’ll give that away.

Sure there’s stuff I’ve forgotten as well.
 
Such a shame - you were just getting the hang of the car! I do miss mine now, but I’m heading down a different road. Otherwise, I’d be throwing three grand at you like it’s confetti at a wedding. 🤣😝
