Hey there,
was going to change oil/filter last weekend as I bought some 10w40 and an oil filter.
I drained the old oil and was getting ready to put the new filter in when I realised that the filter was a lot bigger than the plastic canister that was suppose to house it.
Am I right in thinking that the filter should be completely contained within the black housing? The filter is a Purolator L18286 and the height of the filter is bang on 90mm which is way taller than the black canister. So I ended up just putting the new oil in without changing the filter.
Any help would be appreciated. Also is it possible to replace the filter without having to drain the newly added oil again, I searched and got mixed answers of yes and no.
thanks
