1.6 16v meggy engine

hey guys would this fit into my mk2 ph1 clio as see a lot around on ebay going cheap ish, also what kind of power would a 1.6 16v with 4-2-1 manifold de-cat full cat back system new cams remap to suit and ITB's what kind bhp would this kick out thank you :approve:

110bhp and you'd be as well flogging a dead horse, for the same sort of money get a 172 engine and do all teh same stuff to, instead of 160bhp you'd have over 200!

this is true but im going to buy a 182 when i 22 so dont want the 2.0 16v engine just yet but 160 bhp that would be fine

Yep would fit same engine realy as the Clio version.

120hp or so with a manifold and remap. BenR can do some work on the intake manifold for more gains but 125hp is about your best with this and a remap and exhaust manifold.

ITB and cams depends on spec and how good stock is 175hp about your best bet. Thats won't be cheap.

Are you made of money? If you can afford to do all that to a 1.6 you can more than afford teh insurance on a 182

It would be quit a peeky 160hp if you did get that. It would costs about £500 extra for the 2.0 engine over a a 1.6 transplant but you'd get 50hp over a 1.6 and there no you could get even half that for less than £1k spend on the 1.6

cool thanks guys ya i noo i could jsut get the 2.0 but want sumthink a bit diffrent and dont want the nice feel of the 2.0 jsut yet but want sumthink that still quick but if i can get 120/130 with out cams and itb's that would be great still be nippy

120/130 should be possible withouth cams but cams would be cheaper to do it

You'd want a good induction kit cold air feed, intake manifold work, 4-2-1 manifold etc and full exhaust system (a good one ) and a good remap and you are about 125hp.

Add up the price of those bits though

Cat cam are the ones the'd probably sell you in there own spec so try the compnay direct but the above will get them below that price most likly.
