172/182 engine in a williams clio

has anybody here put a 172 or 182 bhp engine into a williams clio.can it be done?

it can but you will need throttle bodies before anything else as the inlet manifold on the 172/182 makes it too tall to fit under the bonnet otherwise

Where theres a will theres a way. Do it to a valver though not a Williams!

Better value probably to tune the 2.0 F7R engine than going through the effort of trying to get a 172 etc engine in there.

Yup, the 2.0 F7R lump has more tuning potential.

Just make a custom bonnet so it fits??

Whats the point? The F7R 2.0 usually makes well over quoted 150bhp.

Seems a litle high, to get 200hp out of a 172 enigne and your looking at about £3k. Does it realy costs £3k for another 22hp on the Williams engine?Also 172 engines are more expensive arnt they which ofsets the higher tunning costs.

plus it doesnt fit without custom parts. i know someone who did it and it cost him about 5k in a 19 16v! fast but not worth it!
