172/182 inlet manifold top part head scratching session!

its probably been asked a billion times on here but ive searched and couldnt find a definate answer. ive just brought a new inlet manifold and it was listed as fits 172/182 as it turns out its as im lead to believe a 182 inlet and my car is a 172 when i fitted it there is a spare nipple (vacuum?) and a spare bolt at the top rear left. the inlet seemed secure enough and so i fired it up but the car just revved and revved.ive been told to block off the spare nipple,will this solve the problem or is there more i need to do?

yes block that nipple. if it still has a vacuum leak you may need to trim a corner off, where the 172 plenum used to bolt through to the post on the breather plate
