172 cup back to standard!

Well not really a project, but as from tomorrow I will be taking the cup back to standard (on the outside). This will include headlight conversion, rear lights, mirrors, spoiler, GDI stickers off and if I can find a reasonably priced set of turini's (doubt it though) the wheels.

As I didn't do a report of how I have modded the cup (mainly the engine) I thought I could do one of taking it back to standard.

Right then about time I put some pictures up as I have had the K tec spoiler now taken off!

Well I won an auction on ebay for the rear lights. I told myself I wasn't gonna pay over £35 inc. postage. Ended up paying £35.01 inc. postage!!!!

All I really need now are a set of turini's, but don't think I'm gonna find a set never mind a decent set as the "pro race" I got on there haven't got a mark on them and also got mint Toyo tyres to match!

Ha ha I beat you to it guys as I bought mirrors off someone off here from an arctic blue 182! They are currently being sprayed mondial blue at my local bodyshop.

Hi Matt, how you doing fella? Well I'm back at GDI on the 25th, so I don't think I will be turning up with no stickers on the car Andy will think I'm going somewhere else!

Tbh Matt I'm prob gonna be selling it the end of the year/beginning of next year, so thats the reason for taking it back to standard on the outside. I think it will be a perfect buy for someone wanting to do a conversion to throttle bodies, as the Omex 600 is in there thus taking the cost down!

Cool it's a great bit of kit, mate! The car just isn't practical for me anymore especially with me having the two dogs. Also I need to get a house too and can't really afford the house and the car! Also going to be jobless by the end of the year!!!

Where you looking at moving too? What you thinking of replacing the Clio with?

Well a few things I have been interested in when I get myself sorted Matt are:
LY 182 (totally standard) will be slower than mine, but hey I guess it's time to grow up!!
Corsa VXR (don't hang around and lush interior!)
For some reason the new fiesta is growing on me to, but will be s**t slow! Can't wait to see what the ST will be like next year!!!

I'm also thinking of getting a astravan 1.7 CDTI Sportive as I got 2 dogs and will be better for taking them out as 1 is malting and got very short hair and sticking in the cloth seats in the cup, which is a nightmare to get out!

Right more progress!

Bought the headlights from a Scrappy in Birkenhead yesterday for £50 (for the pair), but 1 needed a sidelight and the other needed a headlight, so cost me a little over 50 quid in the end. Have just finished fitting them and here they are on the cup:

Just after I finished fitting them, sat down with a coffee in my hand and got a call from the bodyshop that are spraying the mirrors mondial blue to say they were ready, so just picked these bad boys up:

It's all coming together nicely now, will post some pics up of the finished article tomorrow complete with mirrors fitted, stickers removed and a bloody good clean!!!

Ktec spoiler looks too at home on that bin in the bottom photo. Open the lid, its feeling cold

Good choice on going back to standard. IMO all Clio Sport exterior's should be left untouched
