172 Cup OEM Airbox Fitting Issues

  Clio 172 Cup
Hi all,

I finally got around to replacing the induction kit on my 172 cup as I decided it wasn't befitting to a man of my age. I already miss the noise... Anyway when fitting i noticed that the hose from the acoustic valve was missing, so i simply fitted the normal inlet from behind the NS headlamp. Do i need to do anything to block the acoustic valve inlet on the standard airbox? or is it ok. I imagine its getting coolish air from below the battery mounts

While i was at it I also realised that the metal cover on the ECU has torn itself to piecees, I think due to shagged engine mounts when I collected the car. Is there anything I can do to fix it? I don't seem to be able to find any salvage parts on ebay.

Thanks,

John

The airbox is fine without the AV in place.

The ecu brackets always break, design flaw. its not because the mounts are worn necessarily.

I found that having the pipes off the Airbox made it as loud as a ITG Induction kit lol
