172 cup Rear brakes

  172 Cup
Just curious how much noise and squeaking people recieve from their rear brakes first thing when driving eg. the car has been sitting over night.

I know all brakes tend to rust whilst standing for a while, however im not to keen on the grinding noise's I keep hearing. My pads are only 50% worn and surely the disc dont need changing after 24k.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

The rear brakes are a pain they rust and unless you do some hard braking ever now and again they will start to pitt and rust heavily.

The rear brakes do very little even more so for Cup owners due to the setup.
There more lilkly to rust before they need replacing for anyone who doesn't drive the car hard.

My cup is the same.. the discs rust very quickly & after a drive most of it's still there.. got rings of rust around them..
Did a pretty long trip in it yesterday & made a point of checking the rear discs... rings of rust were still there.
I think it must be the norm.. might get it looked at under warranty for the hell of it, never know they might give me some new discs & pads :)

They're like that on the road - I've just been for a drive as hard as conditions allow, and I've still got clear rings of rust around one disc.

On track they start to make sense set up as they are as they'd be locking all the time if they did much more work.

So the rings of rust are pretty normal then i take it..
Thanks for clearing that up, was beginning to think i had duff discs.
