I beg to differ, I was in the pass seat on the Cup, Jesus car is ace, but it didnt have the legs on chris' till top end of 4th really which is well above, what you would use in real life IMHO. Very impressive for the little amount he has spent on the cup.
On track it would be interesting if it could strech its legs far enough to catch the Cup. Same on 1/4 mile again in my opinion, until he gets a shorter box
Things like this are never gonna be a straight comparison.
I agree with the Chipwizard remap though, jons car would be a cracker, hell even a new gearbox wouldnt go a miss
The sound on jons car was unbelievable, tis a real beast, deffo quicker than Chris's as you would expect, but in totally different places.

Obviously Jons is going to be faster but I would hardly say easily until higher up. 1st gear slight roll and at approx *15 it is about 1 car ahead so I was pleased with mine...maybe I need cams?

yours has cams and bodies therfore 'should' have more low down grunt then the cup. I think they are the same cams as on mine if so low down torque should be good and with the bodies throttle response should be better.
it has good and bad days where sometimes it will start up and idle fine, run fine and I get no problems, then others where the revs drop off really quick and it cuts out and misfires at lower revs. it's not the map, unless it's corrupting, as that was checked and it was perfect, as the car was on ALL day being sorted by Andy then I drove it back and have had no problems. The only thing I can possibly think of is that the alarm is super sensitive and will go off if people stand near it too long, so I've come out some mornings to a completely dead battery, hence why I have two full charged ones in the boot at the moment lol.
It probably has got more grunt lower down, but a 60mph rolling 3rd gear start isn't really ideal as it's not even in the powerband, so by the time it gets there your playing catchup, so it has to claw back the momentum before it can start to do anything. Will have some more tests, 70+ in 3rd I'd be confident I'd immediately pull away and the gap would keep getting bigger. I dont think it would be too dramatic as Chris car's not exactly slow though.

I think its the one with the camera...in which case my following comments arent meant to piss on anyones chips, BUT:
on the last beep, the driver of the cup floors it at the same time...you can hear this quite easily...
this means the jesus looses ground as the cup gains rpm sooner. then as the jesus gains rpm, he EASILY pulls past the cup.
That vid is fairly inconclusive, and very biased.....and so not a fair test one bit.
i wouldnt judge either cars performance on that.

I suppose the best and fairest way to test the difference in performance would be to go at a speed where both cars are in their relative power band, but me being in 2nd at 60 would be unfair if Chris has to be in 3rd I suppose... I had this problem when I had a do with Paul's Teggy, one of us would always be out of the power, but Chris' car is a fookin beast, I was well impressed with it. Like he said it wasn't until 4th gear where I would start to really pull on him from the rolling 3rd gear starts.
I'll be getting a Cup engine shortly with the box, so it should make getting the power down in gear much better, but either way I'm happy with it, even though Chris was 2 up I was on full interior vs stripped, so weight would have been similar-ish

Fair doos...although I don't think on any of those I got the jump...especially on the 3rd gear run...simple rhythm with the horn is quite easy to get. Only a bit of fun after all lol

Jesus, it was like your car was waiting to spool up turbo style, had lag, mine does lower down the revs, i dont proclaim to know s**t but maybe its a cams thing, mine lost a little bit of grunt low down with the cams?
it needs to be above 5k, I was hovering around 4k for most of the runs, as like I was saying, it's a ball ache to match speed and get an even roll, especially when the cars are geared completely differently and make their power in different places. I'd need to be doing 80mph in 3rd before it's on cam really.
As for fun 2nd is good, as you can go from standstill to 80mph in 1 gear... which sounds good, but in reality it makes it a pain in the arse at times lol. 3rd gear onwards all feels the same, once on cam in 5th it still pulls like a train, just seems to keep on going.
Like Chris says I dont think anyone got the jump on anyone, was just a case of Chris' initially got away from me, so unless you have one hell of a serious power advantage getting the momentum back and then passing is no immediate thing lol. If I was in 2nd I'd be at about 6k right in the power, but then it wouldn't really be a fair test as sure, the revs might be similar then, but I'd be in a lower gear lol.
Low down torque is fine tbh Rob, I think it's more down to where it was in the revs compared to where Chris' probably was, as I'd imagine at 60mph in 3rd the Cup's at about 5k or so, similar to a Williams.
1st gear one was pointless but fun, as traction just doesn't happen lol
i dont know if the jesus's car run a 182 manifold but i know chris's does,i've got one fitted on my 172 and the gains lower dain are massive i've had it rolling roaded before and after and theres a massive torque gain low down,the lairy cams wont help low down either i suppose
nick at hillpower fitted mine,you have to drop the subframe etc although ive heard some people say you dont,i got mine cheap but it can work out very expensive if you brought a new manifold and then you need to make a link pipe as it wont line up with the cat back system

well if your about on Sunday at the meet get a camera and me and Chris can get a few more vids done... I'd like to start about 1k rpm further up the rev range to see what happens then, I'd imagine I'll pull immediately then tbh...

sundays the yorkshire WC/CS inter-meet thingy you weapon! lol. Your down on the list as tbc... meeting at the JJB @ 10 and then going on a run then to some random pub for some food etc. Depending if I have my car back and what time he finishes playing footy I could come and get you as it's not that far from yours anyway... or you could just come in the van?
