172 Head Unit Auxilliary Out

Right, I've used the search button but haven't been able to find a definitive answer:

Is it possible to use the auxilliary out (usually used for cd changer) on the 172 head unit to plug in an MP3 player (via some sort of lead).

Hopefully it is as don't want to replace HU (got a pioneer one in the garage) and lose the steering wheel controls.

Any help/advice appreciated,

hmm, looks like mine isn't one of those, seems they were in the 182.
I don't suppose it's possible to fit a cabbase auditorium hu in my 172?
