172 Oil Capacity. A quick Question

I was gonna change my oil this weekend but never got round to getting to Renault for Oil Filter etc etc

A quick one, i was gonna use 5w-40 fully synthetic oil for my 172.

Do you's think 5 litres enough ?

As that the biggest carton of oil i can find is 4 or 5 litres, or will i have to buy a 5 litre carton and a 1 litre to top the level up to 5.1 litres just to be safe ? (The capacity the engine holds with oil and filter change.:S

With oil up to top dipstick mark there's just a lick left in 5 liter can.

Like JR says . Its supposed to be 5.1 litres with the oil filter change . 5 litres will be enough as there will be some sediment in the sump . Mine was serviced last week and it only took 5 litres .
