Just the wheel bearing can be replaced. It's easy to do if you can press the bearing out.
iirc the bearing is about 30 quid. Getting it out of the disc is the hard part, might be worth taking the disc to a garage and paying them to remove it. The rest is easy.
Took it for the wheel bearing, they rang and said he needed new disks and pads all round as they were very worn.
He then points out that he had a service/MOT less than 600 miles ago and Rears were 40% worn, Fronts 70%. At this point they said well thy are worn do you want them done. My old man being as he is, said yeah if they need doing do them.
Gets home and checks all the documentation and it clearly says the rears are only 40% worn. Confronts the Sevice manager today and they gave him the following excuse.....
The wheel bearing and Brake discs are one single part and you cannot replace the wheel bearing without new discs. As we are using new discs, we must use new pads.
Wheel bearing can be done seperatly, but as the discs are 40% worn i'd get them all done, IMO. "only" £175 for everything from yozzasport, peice of cake to fit.
they dont wanna spend their labour pressing the bearings by the sound of it, amtex on ebay is GSF £150 or so posted with bearings genuine renault parts
probably, they have the option of stocking both parts separately or the discs with bearing in them (suits some meganes too) might just be to do with what they have in stock.
