just a quick hello to introduce myself, I should be purchasing a brand new 172 in the next couple of weeks and as soon as I do my cheque will be sent off.

Been commuting for the last couple of years but previously had 5gtt for 3 or so years so Ill hopefully be used to the niggles that will be coming up.



Anyway see you all around.

By brand new 172 I guess its the phase 2 new version..

Welcome to Cliosport btw.. Your gonna love your new car, the engine just comes alive at 4500rpm right up to the limiter..

When you do join the club make sure to get some pics of it up in the members section.

used to love my tungy 5 gtt (warts en all), was a member of rtoc and have been to bbtuning many times, spent a small fortune there, so looking forward to getting back in the swing of things (although my bank manager probably isnt), wont do anything for a while though as itll just be nice to have a car that will start everytime (well thats that jinxed:sick:)
 


Slightly off topic but,

I was in a Pub carpark standing outside my car having a ciggie.. and this old bloke comes up to his car parked next to mine.

I just carried on having my cig but noticed the guy was still standing outside his car looking at mine. He then walked up to me and said "Thats one of them 172s isnt it".

heh, I said "ye it is", he then went on to tell me how he was gonna buy on of em but his wife wanted something bigger in size, told me how he used to own a 5 GTT and had it chipped.. I ended us showing him around the car, thought they were lovely and renault deffinatly had improved its "build quality".

Maximum respect to the old boy.. I reckon he was about 55-65 years old.. heh

Unless its a bag of McCains thrown in the engine bay, a carbed gtt isnt going to be chipped in the same sense that hes thinking. Unless he had electronic fuel injection installed with ecu etc etc.........il get my coat

seen this loads in the past companies offering an uprated chip kit, all it is is a bleed valve and large carb jet,hang on getting dangerously off topic :o *changes back to clio forum*
 


your gonna love it mate. Had mine 2 weeks now and absolutely love it! As its a new one see how much you can control the urge to thrash it when you should be running in ;)
 


LOL yeah ive given up on that taking it easy malarky. When i picked it up the i asked the bloke about running it in and he said just dont go mad in it!

Like they say, once its over 4000 revs it seems to kick you up the arse, sooooo much fun to drive :0)
 


damn right, just expect something to go wrong between then and now, Im not answering the phone at all this week, just in case. Has anyone had experience with getting a cover note with just a vin number ?
