172 Spark plug tool

It's a 10mm spark plug tool you need.

I use a 10mm spark plug socket, 12" extension bar and 3/8" rachet handle.

2 different spark plug tools

10mm and 14mm

that related to size of the thread on the plug... 10mm thread 16mm hex and 14mm thred i think is 21mm

oh and you want a 10mm/16mm hex

Vindicated :)

Also worth noting, The oil will be coming in because the sealant between the cam cover and the head has gone. You we need to reseal it to stop it happening again.

Not as simple a job as it should be as the cambox isn't just a cover, it holds the top halves of the bearings for the cams, if you're not confident in taking it to pieces I would look at a good local garage to do it for you.

Sorry mate.

ive been told that the rocker cover gasket is a 5 to 7 hr job. this is leaking on mine too and have been told that it is a common thing and not to worry about it until i have the cambelt done. just keep an eye on the oil level and top it up when needed. but i would still soak it up before starting.
