I think 182 is about the same.... once a few miles have been put on the clock, well mine was anyway...

(hence Meg225 is going back to the dealers).

ive got a 172 and had a 182 and cup i found the 182 worst on fuel 172 second and the cup the best on fuel... i found quite a difference between the 172 and 182

not what i wanted to hear. i some how though it would be thirstier.

mite just keep the 172

fancied a change. saw a stunning racing blue with stripes on sunday. looked better than my icesilver TBH.

I never noticed any difference, although y0z reckons my 182 is worse than his Cup ever was, but then he does lots of motorway driving where I drive into the City each day.

I average 30 - 32mpg most the time.

 30mpg ! never had that in the 172 no matter how hard i was gunning it. a wrx impreza is around 28mpg-30mpg. surley the economy is one of the selling points of this car as its always been very good.

deffo not getting one, i can just manage 5 days work and fill up on sat evening for £36.50.

If youve never seen below 30 you must drive like a gay. Mine stays around the 32 mark, but I only travel a fairly short distance to work.

i get between 27 and 31 all the time with a mix of motorway and a road driving (mostly motorway).

I personally do not really trust what the trip computer says, cant see how we can all get such a varied response,

Some people of here have seen 40mpg, i have never seen above 35! even with just motorway driving at 67mph in cruise control!

Oh and the 182 is lighter than the 172 mate

And if youve not seen 15.5mpg youve never spent a tank of fuel at Spa. LOL

Mine (182) has just done 1000 miles. I reset it at 500 miles and between 500 miles and 1000 miles I have averaged 18.4mpg. Was hoping I would get better mpg than this :(

Best Ive ever seen was 402 miles out of a full tank. Whitley Bay and back on a full tank of fuel. Pretty good for the type of car Id say...

Tell me about it. I was treated to a few hot laps. Aparently I looked a little pale when I got out!! lol!

Im gettin 33 average (over the last 300 miles) on my 182 and thats mixed driving between motorwys / towns / country lanes. Its only done 1700 miles though so hopefully that will imrpove.

That 33mpg is reasnoably spirited driving, after all no point owning the beast if you dont put ya foot down once in a while :)

so its 2-3mpg worse then it seems. hmm.

the 182 is heavier 1090kgs v 1070kgs for 172mkII and 1035kgs for the 172cup. 10bhp extra 10kgs heavier hence no real difference upto 100 only maybe lower down becuase renault have moved its power lower down.

I dont want to start a whole Normal Vs Super unleaded debate, but I have noticed a difference on my car before, as far as MPG is concerned....

What fuel is everyone using here?

PS I used normal 95 ron.

Im getting about 34mpg at the moment.
Ive done just over 1000 miles. Im currently using Esso Ultimate.

Thats mostly motorway, with some As and Bs (i live in wales, so plenty of beans given ;D )

that sounds encouraging. im driving like a granny at the moment because of the bad weather im gettin into the 40s. currently stands at 45.3 on my trip computer after 76 miles of driving.

It shouldnt make any difference realy. But in your 225 it might as lower RON fuel might knock so youll loose power.
