172cup to 182cup

  Peddled device

Been quoted £12730 for a 182cup in racing blue, stripes & Recaro seat pack.
Reno will give me £7450 for my 172cup (7000miles) against it!
What do you think....apart from thats not a lot for my cup!:(

Is there much difference? Its alot of hassle to go through just for another 10bhp! imo

What reg is your Cup? Cant see any reason why you cant get another £1000 by selling it yourself, especially if its newer and therefore still under warranty etc. According to AutoTrader I bought the cheapest sub-10k mile Cup in the UK this week and that was £8395 (53 plate)!

Its a 53 plate (dec03). The car is A1.Would have probably done a deal if they gave me £8800 against the 182.
Have to say maybe im getting soft as l would prefer ABS & ESP...and better seats.
Mine you...it should be quicker to 100mph;)

Personally, I wouldnt do a swap like that at a price of £5k to change. Its a lot of money to pay for a different colour, ABS and some very marginal improvements, considering that at 7k miles your 172 Cup is hardly run in.

No point swaping imo.

You wont find any bonus getting the newer car. It too will only be worth 7k in 1 1/2 years!

Dont do it.

Save up for a better and bigger hatch and in the mean time enjoy youre 172 Cup.

dont do it

buy them seats from recaro, and get a ktec hidden exhaust system and bmc! then your laughing!

I think a few 172Cup owners drove the 182Cup at brands:

I think the general consensus was that the 182Cup is a softer car.

Ask MarkCup if hes around...

When you change cars, dont you aspire to something better? The 182Cup, as has been said is tamer and has a crapper interior. Stick with what you know and save the 4k IMHO.

Its a truly sound car from what I could tell when I threw one around Brands, but there is absolutely no way on earth, that you could justify paying £5,000 to be sat in one instead of a 172 Cup thats got only 7k miles on it.

OK...cheers for all the comments.
I have decided to keep the 172Cup as l should really appreciate what l have and not be greedy. The car is spot-on
and even though l could afford a 182cup l cant justify the price difference.Maybe in a few years ill change but for now l think that ill just change the seats as it is the only thing that lets the car down IMHO.Does anyone have any pictures of a 172cup with a better interior?
Once again thanks for the advice...very helpful:)
