172'd Mk1 - One Year On

Well, technically more than a year. There has been a huge amount of work, a lot of trackdays, quite a few engines and a major amount of problems...but its still a lot of fun!

Not cleaned it for about 2 months, so gave it a quick wash and went to grab a few pics  Couple of trackdays left this year then its going off the road for winter!

Bring on another year of fun

Cheers for the comments everyone.

Robbos, engine back out, going to be building a fresh one to go in, complete new bottom end, rebuilt and worked head etc. I can then fit the Schrick cams that i've had sat here for months, make some fresh looms and hook up an aftermarket ECU, and get it mapped :) General re-vamp with new bushes, bolts, tidy up, etc too.

Might even get some of the bodywork tidied up if I can be bothered, although thats not the main priority. Performance over looks for me these days!

Quality!!! Are you buying anything to tide you over whilst all the work is going into it??

Il be buying another car yeah. Need to find somewhere to store and work on this over winter, as it was brutal last year on the driveway in the cold and snow!

Once thats done, il get something that I will probably keep for some time as a daily driver, this is becoming a bit of an effort using it every day, lol.

Unsure weather il put it back on the road after the winter yet, may be tempted to do my trailer license, but that will be decided by what car I get for a daily ;)

This car will be a legend of CS tbh, the amount of work you've had to do to on it.

Awsome car Jord. Shame its coming off the road, but it will return better. Any idea's on what the daily drive will be?

  Corsa Van. Meh.
Foxy,

You've done a brilliant job, well done mate.

When I eventually get off my bum and start a mk1 project, yours is exactly how I would want mine!

Matt

Piece of kit this Jords, love it. Did you get the windows sorted in the end? Pop round any time and I'll do them for you :)

No no not sorted yet, keep meaning to do it but dont know what to buy to use on them!

Read over on detailingworld that PlastX or whatever it is, isnt all what its supposed to be...

Yeah that would do it, but to be honest, most polishes would, just need the machine to do it ;)

I can feel a riggy setup with a drill coming on ;)

Its not the scratches/marks that are bothering me, its the cloudy/milky-ness in certain lights on specific patches...not sure what causes that?! Would polishing bring that out?

Aye, just heavy marring, like in paint lad. Get me out on a track day with you and I'll do the polishing for s***s and giggles.
