172mk2 with coilovers or 182

basiclly iam trying to decide on getting a late 53/04 172 with cruise in my faviourte colour iceberg silver and then put some coilovers on.with a car budget of £8000 or a 182 in silver or black but dont fancy the silver in the 182 there are some 182 going for £8000 onwards so what should i do i really love the silver in the 172 and like the whealss but i will be changing them later anyway.also dont like the 182 grey light cover but like the twin exsust.also its newer and come to resale get more money.SO WHAT SHOULD I DO THEN IAM CONFUSED?is there any difeerance from a late 172 to a early 182 except for cup packs. eg better drive?

172's a nicer car imo...Nicer exterior & interior. Plus iceberg is a cheap car (Colour) can buy for about 6.5-7k for a decent one. Then 500£ for FK's...

They are better if you can afford one 1. because they are the newest model, 2 if u buy them with the cup pacs, u got a cup with all the extras. 3. theyre 182 bhp and the power is more usable and finaly, when ur on the road, u wont get anyone in a 182 looking down at you as if you couldnt afford one, sad but thats the way it is. Personally if i had the choice again i'd have a 172 cup. Lighter, faster and some of the later one's wre silver and had a/c etc if your bothered?

I agree with azzer2000.

Get a 182 . I've just sold my mk2 172 FF and got a 182 FF with cup packs .Both are good cars but personally i like the rear cup spoiler better and twin exhausts and i think it handles better than the 172 . But thats just my opinion .

get liquid yellow, that was a £1000 extra. Black/gold looks nice but a buggar to keep clean and shows all marks/scratches.

Only problem with the yellow is you might attract more unwelcome attention from chavs/vandals etc as they stick out more.
