182 After market steering wheel

  Black Gold 182FF
Anyone changed their standard 182 stearing wheel to an aftermarket unit? Looking at changing mine soon. What complications are involved. ie, Disabling the cruise control and air bag, and costs! Is there anyone able to do this on the Wirral, and where can I get a boss kit from?

Not sure on most things but insurance would be a big issue I would have thought...disabling a safety feature would bump the premiums up.

nope, its EASY PEASY!

you have to pull off the upper cover of the steering colum infornt of the clocks, then find the yellow connector and disconect it, stick the resistors in to that

Anyone know this?..is it the metal clips behind the wheel to get the airbag unit off....and is it best to unplug the airbag first by taking the cover off the top?

Think the safest option may be to disconnect the battery before unplugging the airbag. But I'm just guessing.

The cover is attached. Disconnect the battery for an hour (to be safe) and pop the 2 clips, can sometimes be a bit fiddly, the airbag unit pops out which includes the cover as its a fully sealed unit. Then simply unplug the connector behind that.
