182 Auxillary belt and tensioner

  RenaultSport clio 182 Cup
Hi all,

You have helped me in the past with 182 related questions.

My car is a 54 plate 182 cup with 35500 mls on clock. I have read lots of threads about the 36K mile aux belt change.

I have just been quoted £16 for the belt, £140 for tensioner and £43 for the idle pulley, this is just parts cost before I consider labour. Prices were given by my local Renualt Specialist not a dealer.

This seems steep, in you experience what should I look to pay for the parts?

King regards

I've just had mine done on Sunday (on a 172) and found that you can buy a kit with all 3 parts in for about £50ish. I then paid £100 labour for someone i know to do it.

OK thanks Adamio.

That sounds much more resonable.

However I am pretty sure its a more involved job on the 182? The 182 aux belt drives altenator, water pump, ac pump, pwr steering pump, and their is little room to get hands/tool on anything.

That said dont see why the parts should be so much more expensive for a 182?

Can anyone shed any more light on this issue?

What prices for parts and labour have you all been charged for the 182 aux belt change? And who supplied the parts and the labour?

Much appreciated, Daniel

Nope same setups on 172 and 182.
2.7 hours to chnage the belts so £50 is a great deal labour.
