182 Cup-Excellent MPG!!!

  Monaro VXR/Cupra TDi
I owned a 406 HDi estate as my daily driver/workhorse before buying the 182 Cup last week.

When driving her easily I'm on 42-45 mpg. The economy of this car for the performance it offers is fantastic.

I wouldn't say it drops to any less than 23 mpg when driving hard and changing gear alot. Very happy!!!:D

Indeed. My Clio see's anything between 350 and 700 miles per week I'm only putting £10.00 every other day. Not that different from my 406 HDi. Only difference is that the HDi engine will run onto 250K. I won't be keeping the Clio when she reaches 85K. Only on 16.5K so far, so many miles left yet!:)

isnt the cam designed a bit like VVT ? gets to 4k and then revs like a b**ch but if you wanna drive sensibly you can.

Nope the 4k kick is nothing with VVT engine goes to a closed loop and the cam gets more efficnet due to the way it all is but its not desinged to be a chnage over point for economy vs power etc.

VVt is on at 1.6 off at 6.5k so long as the oils to temp and under the right pressure settings.
