182, dead head unit

The head unit on my 182 has stopped playing CD's

tried different ones and i just get the same error, a beep, and 'Err CD' on the screen

is it completely fubar or is there a fix for it?

FM etc all still works (if i can ever find a sodding station)

Mine doesn't seem to work when it's really hot, fine otherwise
Wonder if Renault will replace under warranty or part fund a different unit!

Mine died the other month - completely dead. No power light or anything from it. It did get used everytime I drove the car though, so I guess it just failed with old age and over-use?!
