182 Flat spot

Hi everyone, new to this forum but have posted on Tyresmoke for some time in the Audi section. Now I have a clio 182, few people seem to post on there for French cars, so pleased to have found you.

My car is four months old and has now done 5500 miles, last week it has started developing flat spots when accelerating hard through the VVT range (5,000-7,000rpm) particularly noticeable at 6,000rpm in thrid, almost like a minor misfire. Has anyone else experienced similar?? its already been into the dealer twice but they are struggling to determine the route cause (Im not surprised !!)

cheers

Ben.

vvt works at low revs, thats all you need to know. When the kick cums in at 5k+ thats the cams;) opening up to 100% full strength

just to confirm the VVT operates at just over idle speed so that step in performance around the 4/5k point is the cams reaching their point of optimum performance.

Is it not about 1500rpm that VVT kicks in ? the kick at 4.5kprm is just it comming on cam.

IIRC the VVT in the 172/182 is this most basic form of VVT and not really worth mentioning.

Is there an echo?

Just to confirm for those in the cheap seats

at about 1500rpm the VVT kicks in, the kick at 5k rpm its comming on cam.

Does the 172/182 have the stupid coil packs that keep packing up on the meganes and Vees?
