182 gear box

i need a new gear box 4 my willy2.....dus ne 1 kno if a 182 gear box wud fit n if ne n wot mods wud need 2 b made 4 it 2 fit ok?



also can any 1 tell me if a 182 gear box would be better than a willy2 gear box?

physicall fit yes, as for speedo out put etc etc i have no idea

both boxes are JC5

although the ratios are different

as per fred.. the boxes are the same fitment, albeit slightly different ratios.

im not sure but the electric speed sensor on a megane jc5 can be removed and replaced with valver mech one.. may be the same story for this.. otherwisse you can invest in a spa electronic speedo for £150 .

if the ratios diferent will that mean i wont be able 2 fit it , or will it just have an effect on power output etc?

if you willie has ABS then no probs the ratio is different in final drive. if your willie doesnt have ABS then it will fit but no speedo . better off trying to find a cup gearbox

Yep, due to the way the 182 uses an electronic sensor in the gearbox, whereas the old mk1s used a mechanical link

yeah use the JC5 129 from a clio172cup

but you might as weel just stick another williams box in

looks like im gona end up stickin a willy box in it....the only reason i was goin 2 fit a 182 box was cuz iv found a 2nd hand 1 4 sale!
