182 Oil Change - DONE.

Right, after calling Renault Romford and being told they could fit me in on the 29th for the change and charge £55.00 with me supplying oil, I called Toomeys of Basildon.

I called at 3pm asked them if they could fit me in for an oil change that afternoon. He said they could and to be there between 4 and 5. I turned up at 4.15 and was on the ramp at 4.30. Finished by 5.10.

The charge? £30.

Total cost of the change including oil was probably about £40. SCHWEET!

Last time I went there they smashed my wifes 172 up.......not the best dealer around by my experience. One very rude mailto:tw@t">tw@t on the service desk as well. Less hassle to do it yourself IMO.

I got a magnatec change at kwik fit for 24.99. I had to wait a whole 30 minutes.

what sort of magnatec did you use?? is it good or will it have a differnt effect on the engin than the Elf stuff???? is it better or about the same?

i ask coz im looking at going magnatec instead of elf

IMO avoid Magnatec. There are a lot of opinions about oil and what to use I always used Mobil but now use Halfords own make £15 for 5-40 synthetic. On new engines its advisable not to use Fully synthetic anyway.
