an update for anyone whos @rsed.

Cars been in the dealers all day(didnt get a courtesy car, even after complaining) they have worked out that the cam cover, block or sump is leaking oil....well its one of those things.....but its definitely.... definitely..... coming out of the engine and not one the rear head rests or a near by tree:p

Apparently they will start replacing bits and bobs until it stops leaking, so I guess its a nice few trips to the dealers, this fun will start on APRIL 25th!!! In three weeks time. I repeatedly queried if it was a good idea to drive it until then when even they noted it is leaking near to the exhaust manifold and their response was that there is absolutely no danger of it doing any damage to me or the car. Its booked in for THREE days which should give them enough time to at least diagnose it! (lol)…….THEN… they are going to order parts…”so as long as the parts are in the country” quote (lol x2) I should be ok….to get it fixed about May time. I also asked them to look at the knocking noise/engine mount problem which others peeps have had, and apparently its fine, so the knocking must be in my head(lol x3) I will take this up again when it goes in again.

Left the dealers well p-ssed off having just spent £170 on its first service, and in my opinion got pretty cr@p service.

Drove home with a bit of pace which put the smile back on my face…..but only just!

checked a friends 54 reg 182 with 4500miles on it, no oil at all. Looked at mine again and cant seem to see any with the cover on looking from the side. I could before.

Yup.

Do you reckon its worth getting in touch with renault UK about this, or would that be a waste of time/effort?

doesnt sound good does it going on how 182_blues dealer sorted it quickly enough.

Cant you try a different dealership?

Just booked mine in for the same problem....only appears to be leaking from one of the bolts on the right hand side(as you look at it). This will be the first trip to the dealer in almost a year so it will be interesting to see the service I get.

I doubt it will get fixed first time but my oil level has not dropped at all (on digital display or dipstick) so it cannot be leaking too much. Need to get it sorted all the same.

Its the closest one (holdcroft hanley), and being a main dealer and where i bought it from i was thinking they would be good at getting it sorted (as they said when i bought it)

Checked the elec gauge this morning and its dropped one blob already!(i couldnt be @rsed to check the dipstick as it was throwing it down) but i will tonight, coz if its going to go down a blob a day its not going to last three weeks!

:(

well 182_blues was quite a mess looking at the pics and dont think he noticed it using any more oil he said.

Maybe it has used the oil as part of the running in process anyway?
