182 service light flasing?

  FF 182, v6 wheels
just went to see a 54 plate clio 182, and the service light comes on for a bit, then goes off.
the guy who is selling it says he phoned renault up and its doing that because someone has vaccumed under the seats and might of pulled a wire loose

any ideas as to what this could be??

  Tangoed Works
sounds like could be true if the airbag connection is loose. TBH, they all come on then go off.

  BMW M3
Is it the serive light and airbag light... thats common. Under the seat.

But just the SERV and STOP etc... might be a faulty brake sensor.... mine did that when braking very lightly and Renault fixed it.

  Clio 172 mk2
mine has started coming on again only done it for a month last year when it was cold and doing it now

renaults who in there right mind would have one lol

Its normally more than just the serv light flshing check oil level if its just the serv light otherwsie get it to a dealership to find out the fault.

If it were the seats then the seatbelt warning would also be on the fix for the wiring is posted http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?t=108607

Seat belt warning light

The SERV and AIRBAG lights come on its a common problem (almost every has it) its due to the wiring of the pretensioners going to an open circuit. Fiddle with the wires under the seat an the problem will go away.
On the early cars the solution is to look under each of the seats. You will see a grey connector.
On the passenger side disconnect it and cut the Blue and Brown wires off both sides. Then solder the Blue wire to blue, and the Brown to the other brown. Make sure you use insulating sleeves over the soldered connections..
Under the driver seat there are two pairs of wires in the grey connector.. Only cut the Blue and Brown wires and solder them together as above.. Reconnect the connector..
On the facelift cars it is ONLY the passenger side connector that is affected.. So again cut and solder the Blue and brown wires.

will getting that fixed be covered by the warranty?

if it is the seat then yep easy way to check fiddle with the wires does the light go out.

I'd suspect its another problem with the car if the airbags light isn't on with the SERV light.

If it is the seatbelts then yep covered under warentl so will other problems be.
