182 Steering wheel rubber grips perished solution

The rubber grips on the steeringwheel of my 182 have completely come apart.what have people done to solve this.heard a new steering wheel is expensive anyone know roughly how much.can they be re trimmed and does this include the rubber grips.the leather has melted a little but barely noticeable just the grips.

There is a guy who retrims them on here for £125 (i think) but you have to be a club member which costs £12 (well worth it) or they come up on ebay every now and then.
