182 to CTR EP3

I had the JDM EP3 with more power, lsd as std etc......and even that was awful compared to my old 172 cup. The EP3 is the dullest overhyped car ever, i spent over 1k trying to improve the feedback with superpro bushes all round, bilstein b12 kit etc. pointless, dreadful eps & feels numb. Yes the engine is smoother than a clio rs, but christ if i wanted smooth i use the wife's car.B-series engines in the dc2/ek9 were more raw and in my opinion epic. On a plus note- i do like the look of them, but would i buy another? no. Only type R i'd have would be a teg with a manual rack.

That really tells me something. A moderator on here had/has one and its a world beater, apparently.

By the way not trying to turn this into a CTR vs 172 thread, I think 172s are amazing cars, especially stock.

I just think if you want to modify for more POWER, people who TB/RS2 a Clio have a screw loose, or far too much cash.

Stock 172s are nigh on perfect for everything IMO. It just seems bizzarre to me that people spend the amount the cars worth on an RS2/Bodies and gain 15-20bhp

Now you have wrote that, let battle commence lol

No soul..... I've nearly bought an ep3 three times before, but they just lack that 'something' for me

I have owned 2 ctr's and 2 x 172's
the gearbox in the ctr is miles better
I hated the engine in the ctr under the vtec it's a total joke
No power what's so ever
Even had a hondata fitted and still terribke
I much prefer the 172's as a package

I understand why people like the Clio. Never regretted owning either of my 182s and i would go back if i needed to downsize... Clios are definitely more 'fun' due to being small.

Just think the CTR feels more grown up and MY clios were abit too rough and ready for everyday. Got a bit boring after a while.

looks a nice one that does mate.

I've been looking at a few slightly bigger cars for our growing family and an ep3 has crossed my mind a few times.

Will probably go the hole hog though and get the Mrs a people carrier and I'll keep the clio.

I looked at quite a few 'bigger cars' and nothing really looked very fun. Can't fault the Civic so far...would definitely recommend one. Maybe just hard finding one that hasn't been thrashed more than others.
