182ff cup rear kicking/sliding out

Car  182FF Cup / Renault 5 GT
hi everyone new to clio only had my car around 3 to 4 weeks now but noticed it can be tail happy. when going around a bend if i hit a slight bump rear end slides out of course even more so in the week its getting very bad.

Now before someone says slow down lol i was doing 40 in a 60 zone. Just wondering if this is what the cup suspension is like or should i be checking my whole setup over?

back does sit a tad lower than front. gonna try and knick a ramp at a garage we use tomorrow. cheers for the replys

whack a gas tank in your spare wheel well fixed my rear end steering :D

EDIT: DOHHH its a 182 dont have a spare wheel

Mine has felt really odd for the past week - really twitchy, a quick look under the back today revealed a soaked rear shock so ordered a new one today.

Dave let me have a drive and i'll see if i think it's acceptable(just your driving) or something up.

The back end is pretty damn tight on MrT but then it's a different kettle of fish!

mine does this too. ive checked it over and everything is fine, shocks, springs, tyres, tyre pressure, all is ok. only thing i can think of, its got 35mm lowering springs on, the front is low but the back looks like its sitting higher than std. not sure why.

Come over fag its not too bad shocks and everything else is fine. toe in was out abit thats been sorted, theres a road i take to my girlfriends house which is bad for it (most sideways action) i shouldnt complain really wakes me up on the drive over :D lol

Thinking im gonna get some new springs thou :D mwhahaha

Mine once did this because the shock had kind of seized. The shock would only go in a couple of inches and then stop. No oil visible outside. Behaved the same as when all the oil came out. Rear end bounced wide round the bends.

Are you sure its not just the bump knocking the back out a little on bends. If you hit a ridge or a hole in the bend the back will flick a little, but nothing extreme. Depends how fast your driving really. That said, lift off over steer is another one, or heavy braking on bends causing the back to go light.

It doesn't handle that bad but i've understood that the handling should be alot better than it is, it slides ever so easy round corners. It could be the roads at this time of year but if theres anyone in coventry that owns a 182 ff and wants a little go in my car then let me know

its not lift off oversteer or braking since im not letting off the throttle.

Revisited the bit of road it does it on the most there is a drain in the middle of the bump maybe causing it ESP light does start flashing as well. But thanks for all the replys.

I checked my dampers and they were dry, is there another way of noticing leaking dampers?

Yeah but it involves ending up in a hedge. i live in brum, if you are ever this side let me know and i can have a drive of it

If you look like her in your display pic then i'll leave now!

really though, im going to be at hamms hall tomorrow if you near there?

Mine never leaked on my 172 cup FF with cup packs, but when i took the dampers off one was fecked, no damping on it whatsoever.

I'm not really up for taking the dampers off myself, i'll probly f**k something up... I'm ordering sportlines next week so it'll have to be done then but i'm going to pay someone to do it

It's easy, just undue one at a time and bounce the rear end of the car, if it's like a pogo stick it's fudged.

yeah, they are only held on by 2 bolts, one behind the wheel and one in the boot.
