197 Ecu upgrade - Morego Vs KTec



  Red Clio 197 F1
I'm only 10 days in to owning a 197 F1 and I'm loving it :)

However I'm thinking of an ECU upgrade:

Morego - £350 with 12-14 bhp increase
KTec - £295 with circa 9 bhp increase

Both have similar results with increase in mid range torque, but what would most people go with or is there an alternative that I'm missing (Superchips)

I'd go for Ktec. Ignore the bhp increase, Ktec specialise in Renaultsports, its thier thing they have lots of experience with the 197's so i'd be taking my car and money there.

All our 197 remaps are also custom maps suited to the particular car and set up on our dyno.

We also have a 182 in with the Morego 202bhp conversion at the moment and lets just say it does not do exactly what is says on the tin!

I dont think many people will be surprised at this!! im certainly not, seems a bit bolt on and hope :S figures are a bit specific/optamistic

I thought the 172 was lumpy when cold, but my 197 feels like it's driving with 2 cylinders for the first 10 minutes. But hey that's better than thrashing a car that revs to 8k rpm right from the off!!!!

Does your remap cure the lumpy when cold syndrome that I'm told is common with 197s
