1st service due. Questions

Hi All,

My clio is due it's first service real soon. I am a little hazy on the subject of getting this doen by a non renult dealer.

My preference is to get this done by my usual mechanic. (who kept my petrol Megane going up to 117k with no major problems.)

He says he can stamp my book. What I want to know is :-

Can he carry our warrenty work?

Will getting it done by my own favoured mechanic devalue the car?

Will this effect my warrenty?

If he can't carry out warrenty work. Can he tell me wahts about to break and send me to renult to get it replaced?

Thanks in advance.

Hi mate,

He won't be able to carry out warranty work without charging you. This can only be done through the official Renault Dealer Network.

I can't see it affecting the value as long as its a reputable garage and he stamps the book. The warranty will still be valid so no probs there.

Yes he probably can. Most trustworthy mechanics I know tell me honetsly whats fooked, but you can always get a second opinion if he's just looking.

I tend to try and work out whats wrong myself, get a mechanic to agree and then I've got reasonable piece of mind.

So if I agree with him before that I want him to carry out the service and replace parts that ware but not anything that would be warrenty work it should all be good!

As long as genuine renault parts are used then theres no problems.

Anything remotely warranty - back to your dealer :)
