Im shortly going to have finished my 172 replica but im being warned of using the 2.0l badges.

The car will loo the same as the sport with the exception of a sunroof which 99% of ppl wont notice.

Do i keep the 1.6 badges of should i get the 2.0l ?
I think its silly to leave the 1.6 on

the cs massiv don't like people using the 2.0 badges on anything but a 2.0. it is somewhat frowned upon on here for some reason.

basically, some people are saying it will look silly, lol im not being thretend or anything.

It just seems pointless doing a full replica and not having them...

it would be like having a sunday dinner without the chicken...

i think i'm going to put some on my replica, along with the new renaultsport badge. as you said, it's pointless making a replica and finishing at 98% completed. :)

Then shouldn't you be putting a 2.0 engine in the front?

The badges explain what lump you have in the front, stick to the 1.6 16v mate, maybe spray them silver. Mucho respecto!

9.1...

That's new style frenchin'.

If i were you mate id leave the 2L badges alone, if it was me id put 1.2 badges on it, that way youll still show people up.

NEVER overstate.

Someone is at the lights next to you... notices you have a 2.0L. They decide they'll give you a race in there 1.4 Saxo/punto/Corsa.... and wins!!! Clio = Bad name!

Understate FTW!

Havent we had a thread on this recently?

I've changed by mind. Do it. Its your car.

I hope in making a full rep you've got rid of those gash bumpers and got some body coloured ones.

If it's a replica I say put the 2.0 badges on. Unless you're a boyracer tw@t who loves racing off the lights then there's no reason why you shouldn't have them.
You don't have to drive like a tw@t to own a 2.0 so I doubt you'll be racing off the lights against a VXR...

Dude, 1.6 16v the way to go... just spray them up. The 1.6 lump is used in the Super 1600 in the rally car. Mucho respect... if i were you i'd get some super 1600 badges made up. No point with the 2.0 plus if your car gets nicked your insurance company ain't gonna like the badges. Makes it more stealable.

Any just thought i'd put my two penath in...

why would a 1.6 16v clio 110bhp loose to a 1.4 8 valve saxo 80bhp

plus you can get away with it more because its a 1.6 not a 1.2 now realistically 90% of people on the road dont no anything about clios...

LOL

You live in Warrington... aka Badged Up Central. So it'd be fine!

Seriously though... 1.6.

I'd just get some 16v ones though, at least then you'd be cool.

dunno if its been said, but what about just putting the 16v badges on it? i've got a mk2 ph1 with ph2 side strips and have 16v badges, think they look better than the 1.6 ones tbh.

yea but wats the point of the badges saying 2.0L wen its not......

thats like having a sunday dinner without the chicken

Horses for courses, if it floats your boat, then do it, no one is going to stop you. It really doesn't matter what people think as long as you're happy at the end of the day.

more like a 7 that... liar!!!!!

But that's because I have a 1.2. His is a 1.6, think about it. :rasp:
shh :( too early in the morning for me

or just be normal and dont race them

1% on badge and 1% on engine?
i meant stick a RS badge on there too, call it 97% then lol

Forgive my latent stupidity in the face of web-speak, but what does FTW mean?

A few years ago, I would have said "Free The Weed" :)

As for the badges, just wang a 16v badge on, or have one made up that says "Clio" or "Sport". No point in lying. I'd be more respectful of a replica that didn't pretend to be more powerful than it really is..

Leve it as a 1.6 16v......... i'd always know its a rep due to the sunroof ;)
