My dad has just bought a new Dell PC for my grandparents as the old one was a little long in the tooth. A few issues have arisen during the transition:
1. The new machine doesn't have a modem built in and the modem in the old machine is an old Intel 28kpbs item. I searched for drivers on this but they were only listed up to XP. Can any 56k modem be used or will it need to be Vista specific?
2. The printer uses an old serial interface, again something the new machine doesn't have provision for. Is it possible to buy a USB convertor, will I need a serial card or is it new printer time?
Any ideas?
