2004 182

  Fiesta ST2
Folks im thinking of trading in the 1.2 TCE for http://www.usedcarsni.com/22550368

anyone any opinions on this? is it LY or another colour of yellow? is it a girl colour?

I've been reading http://www.parkers.co.uk/cars/equipment/Detail.aspx?deriv=26763 but I think its confusing me as it has both 172/182 and they both include different equipment.

Any comments are welcome and what to look for if I go for it e.g inspection information? all help appreciated

thanks guys and girls.

  Celica and Raptor.
Looks like a Very Nice 182 mate, as for the colour its nice this is the first 182 ive seen in this colour.

Good Luck Mate.

daniel ive seen cheaper ones but I live in Northern Ireland and its hard getting a cheap one which hasnt been raped over here :(

Mileage isnt the best and you're paying a heavy premium for that colour.

Its at least a grand over priced..

I'd be tempted to sell you my Inferno, with 21k and year newer for £7k

As mentioned, massively overpriced and I doubt the cambelt has yet been changed but it's due very soon. If that's the price of a decent one in NI then get yourself a trip over here arranged and pick up a lower miles example for much less!

it is a bit overpiriced tbh. too many miles on it for that money. however , theres no better colour than LY. Best choice ive made:) Girly colour????? . . . Thats Racing blue;)

+1, Im sure Daniel can source you a minter over here and sort the paperwork for a small fee (im 99% sure this is a service he offers) and it would still be miles cheaper than that.

I think £5k is a bit optimistic, but if you're set on yellow, finding one is much more difficult.

I can only find 1 yellow 182 on PH, AT or eBay and thats the one youve posted the link to.

all these dreamers thinking you can get hold of a mint LY182 with cup packs for between 5-6k make me laugh tbh. 7k is about right for a mint one with decent miles. NO LESS!

lol, no.

You're only saying that because you dont want to believe how much your car has lost already..

Money isnt that much of a problem for me if im honest. i didnt buy the car as an investment lol All cars lose money the minute you become another owner and with each mile you add. Seriously though , find me a mint LY182 with both cup packs and sub 30k on the clock for under 7k.

The car we're talking about has done 56,000 miles. :S

^^^^ Therefore he's on another planet at £6.5k.
Assuming its mint and I mean mint and he does the belts I think £6k would be reasonable but no more.

That Trophy looks a great buy! (on paper at least- might be poor condition upon viewing)

To the OP, if you're set on LY you'll have to pay whats wanted. Quite a rare colour so you can't be picky.

As for 182 prices in general, I paid £6k back in October for mine which was about right (05, 37k). Like to think its worth £5-5.5k now (I'd take £5k probably)

You said a mint LY clio was worth 7k all day long with sub 30,000 miles.

The one we are talking about has been lowered, has a different exhaust, and has done 56,000 miles.

my apologies i think were getting mixed up here. What im saying is . . . to get a good example (standard) / mint condition both inside and out with both cup packs and milege below 30k , you will struggle to get it for under 7k.

Id say a modified LY182 like the 1 in question here would cost less to buy than a standard mint example. As the post above says , you cant be picky with LYs when it comes to money. If you want the best around you have to pay good money and more money thann you would for the same car in Black Gold/ Silver etc

I see what you're saying now mate.

(and don't apologise to me, i'm a c**t! lol)

lol it was my fault , i worded it wrong. I just know how difficult it was to find mine after 6-7 months of searching lol

As long as you're happy with it, then it doesnt matter how much you pay. You'll always find someone on here who managed to pay less for a newer car with less miles.

Its not like you're looking for one of the pikey free colours like Racing Blue. Yellow was a £1200 option and because of that its rare.

Try that dealers, see if that belts have been done. Get it serviced, get a good trade in on your car, then it might not be such a bad deal afterall.

cool thanks for all the advice guys wasnt expecting so many replies! I'll be contacting the garage in the next day or two about the car - its been for sale for well over a month now so Id need to visit it to see if anything actually wrong with it. If I can get more money off itd be a winner. I'll see what i can sort tomorrow with the dealer and maybe take a trip to see it.
