It’s just insane. I know from experience the amount of work, commitment and the unlimited amount of hours needed to do a project like this. And this is on another level to what I’m doing. It’s why it’s so bloody brilliant.

I suspect you’re keeping the Blue theme underneath the arches Tom but are you planning on keeping it Blue along the floor pan/chassis legs as well?

I can't wait either. Alex now has the shell and I believe all the parts, so just a case of putting it all back together.

Although I've had engaged someone to complete all my work unlike you, as I don't have the skills! Blue will be everywhere...

To be honest this was going to happen irrespective of the incident at Oulton, this was always on my radar to do however truth be told I wouldn't have done it so soon.

Yeah, when you look at it as a single project its a bit daunting. But I have some plans to make a start with on mine. These threads are great inspiration though.

Update August 2022 - Don't get too excited!

Nothing major to report but thought best to update this thread.

With the high standards both Alex & I are aiming for it was always going to be a slow project. The car is currently back in with paint as there were a few areas Alex wasn't 100% happy with.

However priory to it going back I had the following updates:

Rear heat shield made by AW Motorworks:

Engine in place:

The past week I managed to get hold of a sump guard. I've been after one of these since I bottomed out on a local country road and got the gear linkage stuck, hopefully this will help prevent this. I'll give this a good clean up and get it dropped off to AW Motorworks whom will take care of fitting.

In other random news, I've hopefully secured another Recaro Pole Position so that I can run a passenger seat, I may also be selling my gold 2118's as I have more wheels than sense but we'll see.

I'll try to keep this up-to-date and I look forward to getting it back on the road.

I've been after one for ages also, ever since I knocked my gear linkage locally and it got stuck in gear.

This popped up on FB and I jumped on it right away.

Going to tidy it up this weekend and hopefully drop it off to Alex for fitting.

It was a Clio FB group but I can't re-call which one.

Indeed it was based in Lowestoft. Really good chap to deal with, I was going to collect but was really inconvenient however the chap selling packaged it up for me and posted. TBF I jumped on it pretty quick and really pleased I did.

November '22

Updates on here has been slow, mainly down to life being busy and if I'm honest I'm loving the Caterham too much, however the Clio is near completion. Alex at AW Motorworks has been great, All going well the car will be finished before 2022 is over. I've been really poor updating both IG and here with the progress however here are a couple of pics:

December '22 - Back from AW Motorworks

Just before Christmas I collected the car from Alex. I'm so pleased with the outcome. I need to spend sometime cleaning it all up and coating everything but I'll wait until the weather is better and I'll collect from storage. I only got a few pics after the journey back from Alex's to mine but I think they'll demonstrate the level of work. I must also say the pics do not do the work justice:

I've recently emailed Engine Dynamics to get it mapped and then we're done and ready for some trackdays in 2023!

Once I have the car out of storage and its been properly cleaned I'll probably get it booked in for a photoshoot, I'll also post a detailed list of all jobs completed over the past 12 months.

Finally a massive thank you to Alex. He really is an expert in this field and from the get go he understood my vision and he delivered.

Thanks Mark. It was always the long term plan to get the Clio to this spec. Really pleased I got it to where I wanted it to be.
