2016 Audi RS3

Another addition to my growing collection of cars I don't really need..... I should really sell the F type and the Mini sometime.

Starting a new job in Feb which will require doing a lot of miles again and will require a car having 5 doors etc etc.

I wanted some thing different and I needed it to be 4wd and pref an estate so the list wasn't very long. A new RS3 was at the top of it.

Finding one was a ball ache, there is a 10 month wait for a new order, cars in build are trading for more than list price and dealers hardly have any stock. In the end I called 22 dealers until I found this which was a cancelled order. It had been cancelled on delivery to the dealer, and I'd literally called 10 mins later!

The most important options I wanted were the dynamic pack (mag suspension and sports exhaust), tech pack (posh nav) and comfort and sound pack (B&O stereo etc). Luckily this car had them all, so I drove the 2 hours to go look at it.

Pics from inspection:

I wasn't a massive fan of the matt silver pack on it but other than that I loved it. Sorted deposit there and then then sorted my finance out my self. Straight HP over 60 months at 3.8% APR for those that are bothered. The rate Audi offered was 10.9% lol.

Collected it yesterday. Got an umbrella, tank of fuel and a bottle of champers with it. Nay bad.

Only really driven it down the M1 so far but I love it. It is 100% not a sports car which I just what I need, its a fast point to point estate which sounds awesome. Group B sound is just what I wanted. Its not hard or fidgety, just plant foot and go! Averaged 33mpg on a very fast run back to London too.

Then I got a £55 parking ticket because its number plate isn't on our parking thing, it was only there for 9 mins. Arse!

Can't wait to use it properly and pile the miles on.

Very nice mate. Hope you enjoy using it. A genuinely awesome real world all rounder. Can do pretty much everything you need it to and it looks as though it can punch above its weight for pace.

Makes me want an 8V now!

  A special one.
Bloody love that, epic bus. [emoji106]
I'm sure it sounds the same as the wife's Volvo S60 D5. [emoji23]

Love it mate. I would own one if I had the pennies. What a car

You've done well to get a cancelled order with the crazy lead times on these.
My brother has one in exactly the same colour (2k option IIRC) along with the black optics and pan roof. He has just changed his pads after 6 months and 10k miles - £370 for the pads alone from Audi.

Edit - 33mpg? You must have a been driving like a fairy.

95% of my driving is on the motorway. Sticking to 70 it'll do 40mpg.

I had 80% left on the pads in my 335d after 40k miles. Never braking FTW.

I would be interested to hear your averages. His average is 20.5 mpg from new (just over 10k miles).

Also, his has a clunking from the rear. Its now a known issue with the mag ride when going over bumps in dynamic mode. There is a post on RS3OC discussing a recall on them.
Might want to check out if it affects yours also.

This clunks already. All Audi Mag systems seem to, even on the RS6 and R8. They really need to sort the design of the single struts.

Bloody lovely. Well, apart from the silver bits ruin it for me. Still an epic car and purchase.

Not sure I'd consider an estate with just 280L of boot-space!

I've got the (boring) diesel version which has 380L thanks to the lack of a rear diff and that's a bit of a stretch for fairly mundane stuff (baby buggy etc.).

Haha fair one.

Bigger than the F type:

Smaller than the Mini

Proper car! Love these, however I wouldn't be able to afford the running costs let alone the actual payments for one.
