54k Service

Coming up to 54k on the clock in my 05 plate dynamique, Went to reno today and got a quote for about £230. I assume this is a minor service? However they did say they stripped the rear brakes and lubed them up, Whats the reasoning behind this?

Also anywhere cheaper and reliable as I just need a basic service and its not as if its a sport, so should it really matter where I go to get it done. Local Ford garage are doing a deal £129 for MOT and Value service.

I need to get my service done, 04 plate Dynamique on 50k. Is there anything that needs to be done for this service?

I've just rang Renault, they've given me a quote of £305 for the service. :|

54k is oil and filter cabin filter, genral inpection, measurment of brakes, strip and clean rear shoes

seems expensive for whats done. Will the stripping and cleaning of the rear shoes stop my low speed brake squeek? As i was informed its the rear brakes but costs £80 to strip it and clean it normally.
